Why shipment declaration?

Before shipping your items, you want to declare the value of each item.

The declaration is to specify a value for the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, Aramex, DHL) should any damage or loss occur and Customs when shipping internationally.

For shipments without a declared value, the maximum liability for UPS and FedEx is US$100.00.

When declaring an item, you need to provide: Declared Value, Quantity, and Item Description. 

What is the declared value?

The declared value is the amount you tell the shipper or customs your shipment's worth. Declared value is not insurance.

The declared value represents the maximum liability for which carriers will accept in connection with your shipment. Customs officials use the declared value of an item to determine duties and taxes.

Carriers will also have a maximum declared value restriction. Visit carriers' websites for more details. 

We recommend you to declare the accurate value or merchant invoice of the item.

How to declare your items when shipping with US Global Mail?

You can declare an item when requesting a shipment.

While placing your shipment request, any items that require declarations will be listed in the Declare Item step. Enter the information for each package and click Next. If a declaration is incorrect, click "X", and add a new declaration to replace.

How to change a declaration after submitting a shipment request?

To make any changes to the shipments, you need to edit the shipment.
