How do I create a shipment request to forward my mail?

Updated over a month ago

Forwarding your mail or packages is easy - just make sure your default payment method is set first.

📌 Before You Start:
Ensure you have a valid Default Credit Card on file. Your shipment will automatically charge this card. Click here to add/update or set a default card.

Steps to Create a Shipment Request

  1. Log in to your US Global Mail account

  2. Select the mail or packages you want to ship (you can choose multiple items going to the same destination)

  3. Click “Create Shipment” and follow the prompts to:

    • Add a destination address

    • Select your preferred carrier and shipping method

    • Choose your desired ship date (today or a future date)

    • Add optional packing instructions (e.g., "Keep original box" or "Bundle letters")

Optional: Include New Mail for Future Shipments

If you're scheduling a future shipment, you can check the box to “Include any new mail that arrives before the ship date.”

This option is only available for future-dated shipments- not same-day requests.

International Shipping – Customs Info Required

If your shipment includes anything beyond letter mail or magazines, you'll be prompted to enter:

  • Item descriptions

  • Quantity

  • Declared value per item

  • Insurance - add amount you wish to insure shipment for. This is the max amount shippers will pay in case of damaged or lost shipment/items.

Tip: Declare a fair value. Under-valuing may cause delays, fines, or customs inspections. USGM is not liable for customs declarations you submit.

Need a Signature on Delivery?

We offer signature confirmation for select carriers. Just choose this option during checkout if required.

Packing Notes

Unless you specify otherwise:

  • Packages and softpacks will be consolidated (outer packaging removed) to save on shipping

  • Letters are never opened
If you’d like original packaging preserved, leave instructions in the “Packing Instructions” field.

Shipping Schedule

We process shipments during business hours at each facility.
You’ll see a “Ships Today” label during checkout if your request will be processed the same day.

Check your location’s schedule by clicking the “?” icon inside your USGM mailbox dashboard.
