Do you provide proof of address?

Proof of address for banking for non-US residents.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

As a CMRA (Commercial Mail Receiving Agency) authorized by USPS, we are not permitted to issue official proof of address letters, in accordance with USPS regulations. Additionally, US Global Mail cannot provide official proof of address documents, such as utility bills, lease agreements, rental confirmation letters, or formal documents required by financial platforms.

US Global Mail does provide a confirmation email stating that they manage your mail on your behalf. However, this document is not equivalent to formal documentation typically accepted by banks, government agencies, or financial platforms.

The best approach is to use the residential address listed on your ID, even if it’s a foreign address. U.S. citizenship or residency is not required to open a U.S. bank account; many international founders successfully do so with a foreign ID and address.

If you specifically need a U.S.-based account (not one designated for non-residents), one common workaround is to list a family member’s or friend’s U.S. residential address as your primary address for the bank. You can then use your virtual mailbox as the mailing address. This setup ensures that you receive all critical banking documents without interruption.
