When switching to U.S. Global Mail from another mail forwarding or virtual mailbox service, here’s how to ensure a smooth transition for any remaining mail:
Keep your previous account active for a short overlap period [30-60 days]
This ensures any straggling mail is still received while your U.S. Global Mail address is being updated across your vendors, clients, and institutions.
Manually update your address with senders
Contact banks, vendors, clients, government agencies, and others to provide them with your new U.S. Global Mail address (including your mailbox number).
Request forwarding from your old provider
Request that they forward any mail and packages received to your new U.S. Global Mail address.
Check if you need to complete a USPS Change of Address
If your previous address was a personal residence or PO Box, you may file a USPS Change of Address to redirect mail to U.S. Global Mail. If it was another commercial mail agency, USPS prohibits redirection—you’ll need to notify each sender directly.
💡 To avoid service lapses, we recommend keeping your old provider active for at least 30 - 60 days during your transition to U.S. Global Mail.
