Exterior Scan
Every time a mail item arrives, we automatically scan the outside of the envelope and upload it to your dashboard. This lets you quickly identify each piece of mail.
Interior Scan
By default, we automatically open and scan the contents of your mail for you, so you can view it right away. These scans are provided in full color (front and back) and uploaded as a PDF to your dashboard.
If you prefer not to have your mail opened automatically, you can easily update this setting anytime in your mailbox preferences.
You’re Always in Control
While we set your mailbox to automatically open and scan mail for convenience, you remain fully in control. You can:
Turn automatic scanning on or off anytime
Request scans, forwarding, shredding, or storage manually
Set up custom automation rules based on your preferences
No additional actions (like forwarding or shredding) are ever taken unless you request them or set up automation.
Automation for Convenience
Automation settings allow you to customize how your mail is handled without needing to take action each time. For example, you can:
Automatically scan incoming mail
Forward specific items
Shred unwanted mail
These settings can be updated anytime to match your needs. Attaching steps for your reference here.
Processing Time
Exterior scans are uploaded as soon as mail is received
Interior scans are typically completed within a few hours during business hours
Requests made after hours or on weekends are processed the next business day
Need it faster?
We also offer expedited scans, where your mail is opened and scanned within 30 minutes of your request.
What Happens If I Exceed My Plan Limits?
Each plan includes a set number of interior scans. If you receive more mail than your plan covers:
Additional scans are treated as overages
Overage fees are applied based on your plan
You can review full details in our Fair Use / Overage Policy.
Why We Enable Auto-Scan by Default
We automatically enable interior scanning for all new mailboxes to make the experience seamless—you don’t have to request scans manually for each item. However, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can turn this off anytime in your settings.
