When it comes to shipping, two things matter most: size and weight. And sometimes, size matters more.
When you use our Rate Calculator, you’ll see discounted shipping rates from the biggest names in the game - FedEx, DHL, UPS, and USPS. These are the real rates we’ve negotiated for you, often far lower than what you'd pay at a retail store or on the carrier’s website. Except for USPS which does not offer discounts.
Here’s What You’ll See in the Calculator:
Our Rate: The price you get—discounted and exclusive to USGM customers
Retail Rate: What you’d pay walking into a store or booking online
ETA: Estimated business days to delivery
“Can Ship Today” status
Important: These Are Estimates - Not Final Rates.
Why? Because our system makes the best guess it can based on the weight and dimensions you enter. But we only know the actual combined weight and size once we physically pack your items.
Good news: In 90% of cases, your final rate is lower than the estimate.
What Is Dimensional Weight (And Why It Matters)?
Shippers don’t just charge by weight—they charge by space taken up.
This is called dimensional weight, and here’s how it works:
Imagine two boxes that each weigh 10 lbs:
One is the size of a shoebox filled with books
The other is the size of TV box filled with feathers
Both weigh the same. Guess which one costs more to ship?
That’s dimensional weight in action.
And no, we can’t choose whether to use regular or dimensional weight. Carriers decide. They base it on availability, aircraft space, and the dimensions of your box.
