Closing your US Global Mail account and mailbox

BEFORE CLOSING ACCOUNT

Make sure you've handled all items in your account: Scanned, Shipped, Shredded, or Returned to Sender.

To close automatically on your next due date, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your account at https://inbox.usglobalmail.com

  2. Click on Settings

  3. Click on Plan & Billing Details

  4. Click "Close Account"

  5. Follow the steps to close your account.

Here’s what you need to know before saying goodbye.

Once your account is fully closed, any new mail we receive will be securely shredded. No exceptions. That’s why we strongly recommend choosing a Wind-down Plan offered at the time of closing. It gives you extra runway—so you can still read, forward, or store important mail that arrives unexpectedly.


Want mail redirected to your home address after closing your mailbox? There are two paths:

Option 1: You filed a USPS Change of Address.

  • If it’s temporary (6 months) or permanent (within the first year), you can cancel it yourself using the 16-digit confirmation code USPS emailed you.

Option 2: You didn’t file—or it’s too late.

  • Unfortunately USPS doesn’t allow address changes from virtual mailboxes like ours (we’re a CMRA—Commercial Mail Receiving Agency).

  • Why? Because USPS treats our location as one big address, not hundreds of individual units.

  • So, if cancellation isn’t possible, your only option is to contact your senders directly and give them your new address.


REQUESTING A REFUND AFTER ACCOUNT CLOSURE If you've closed your account and are entitled to a refund, here's what you need to know:

  1. After completing the account closure steps above, you'll receive a confirmation email.

  2. Reply to this confirmation email to acknowledge your account closure.

  3. Once your account is officially closed, refund processing will begin automatically.

  4. Refunds typically take 3-5 business days to appear in your account after processing.

    Important Refund Notes:

  • Refunds are processed only after the account closure process is fully complete.

  • If you don't see your refund within the expected timeline, contact the US Global Mail support team.

  • Refund eligibility may depend on specific terms and conditions, such as subscription usage or cancellation date.
